What’s New & What Matters This Month
Every claim that moves through iink passes through a lot of hands, and small errors early on create the biggest headaches later. This month's iink Pulse is about getting each claim right the first time, starting with an updated submission experience that surfaces the payees on your check before you submit, plus tips for complete, accurate submissions and planning around the Labor Day holiday. You'll also find a look at what a shifting Florida market signals for the rest of the country, a customer spotlight on Integrity Claims Consultants and an introduction to Travis C. from The iink Crew.
What's new in the product
Payee Extraction Comes to Referred Homeowners:
Homeowners who come to iink through their mortgage servicer now get the same payee extraction that file creators already have in the standard flow. Payees are pulled straight from the check so each party's role can be confirmed up front, and if the mortgage company on the check doesn't match the referring servicer, a clear warning appears while still allowing the submission to proceed. The flow also has a refreshed look with updated navigation showing progress at each step.
Get It Right the First Time
Match the document to the request.
Upload the document type that's actually being asked for, so nothing bounces back later.
Send complete, legible files
Include every page and make sure scans are clear before you upload.
Check your image format before uploading.
iPhones and iPads save photos as HEIC by default, which can cause upload issues. Switch to Settings, Camera, Formats, Most Compatible so your photos save as JPG, or export existing files to JPG or PNG before uploading.
Review your stakeholders before submitting.
Our system reads checks for payee information and allows assignment as a property owner, mortgage company, or professional. Delete duplicate mortgage companies and company names. As the professional submitting the check, you are already a stakeholder and can allocate funds to yourself.
Confirm professional details before you add them.
If you're adding a professional to a check, ask first whether they're already on the iink platform and get their correct contact information. Entering details that don't match their iink account can delay signatures and hold up the whole check.
Know when we can't process a check.
Some mortgage companies do not work with third parties, notifying file creators directly. iink cannot process these checks; selecting "other mortgage company" only causes delays. If a check lists two mortgage companies, have the non-partnering one endorse it first before submitting to iink.
Start with the claim number
so every document and check links to the right file automatically.
Plan around Labor Day.
iink will be closed Monday, September 7 for the holiday, since the Federal Reserve is closed that day. Standard transfers and deposits pause over the long weekend and resume Tuesday, September 8. If you need funds on the holiday itself, Instant Transfer runs 24/7, so you can still move money from your Wallet to your bank in minutes.
What Florida's Cooling Litigation Tells the Rest of the Country
Florida is often the leading indicator for where the property insurance market is heading, so a notable shift there is worth watching everywhere. New data show Florida's share of the nation's homeowners insurance lawsuits has fallen sharply since lawmakers overhauled the claims litigation system, a sign of market stability that could mean more coverage options and fewer closing delays.
What's driving the shift:
- Litigation reform that overhauled how property insurance claims disputes move through the system.
- A striking imbalance now easing, with Florida representing about 5% of national homeowners claims in 2025 but roughly 41% of related lawsuits.
- More insurers entering the market and early signs of lower rates.
What this means for iink customers:
A calmer, more predictable market changes the pace of the work on the ground.
- Fewer disputes can mean cleaner, faster claim resolution
- Fewer closing delays where property claims intersect with real estate transactions
- Smoother disbursement when litigation isn't slowing the flow of funds
- If Florida is the bellwether it usually is, expect similar shifts in other high-volume states
In their words
I'm Chris Ferreira, Member at Integrity Claims Consultants, a licensed public adjusting firm based in Fort Myers, Florida and licensed across roughly two dozen states. We represent policyholders — not carriers — through the full life of a property claim, from estimate review and supplement demands to carrier negotiation and appraisal. I split my time between working claims in the field and running the firm's operations.
In property claims, the settlement check almost never arrives clean. It's usually made payable to the insured, the mortgage company, and sometimes the contractor all at once — which means nobody gets paid until every party endorses it. Chasing mortgage-company endorsement departments, mailing paper checks back and forth, and manually tracking where each one stood could stretch on for weeks. That delay held up the contractors who referred us the work and slowed down the entire file.
iink took the most tedious and unpredictable part of our back office and turned it into a repeatable process. We run our insured claim checks and mortgage-company checks through iink, track each one all the way to clearing, and disburse funds—less our fee—to the appropriate party. What used to live scattered across emails, phone calls, and sticky notes now runs through one tracked workflow.
Faster, more predictable disbursement. Our contractor partners get paid sooner and can actually see where their check stands, which has taken a recurring source of friction out of those relationships. It's also freed our processing team from spending countless hours playing phone tag with endorsement departments.
Positively. The contractors we work with care most about getting paid promptly and knowing the status along the way, and iink lets us give them both. The insureds appreciate being able to see exactly how the funds will be allocated — and that they don't need a meeting or to go anywhere to endorse the check, since everything is handled digitally and securely.
If any part of your business touches multi-party insurance checks, the endorsement-and-disbursement bottleneck is almost certainly costing you more time than you think. iink turns that into a predictable, trackable process — it's well worth a look.

National Account Manager
I am a National Account Manager in the Customer Success Department. My typical day consists of onboarding new iink accounts, assisting with their first check submissions, training their teams, and providing resources to ensure their success. I also work with our existing accounts, providing ongoing account management, subscription and usage reviews, and training to ensure teams continue to use iink effectively.
Working at iink feels like working with family. Everyone on the team is passionate about helping all parties associated with the claims we handle. It's a highly collaborative environment where everyone is ready to step in whenever needed. I love being part of the Customer Success team—not only helping users navigate their accounts, but also helping them seamlessly integrate iink into their daily operations. Even when things don't go as planned, being there for my clients and helping get a claim back on track brings real joy to my work.
I love when a company joins iink that isn't just new to our platform, but is also a brand-new business. Recently, I assisted a new client with submitting the very first check they received after opening their doors. Being there right at the start and watching them succeed with check endorsements and deposits is deeply satisfying.
We truly position ourselves as experts when working with mortgage companies. We maintain a vast database of processes, documentation, and lender information to ensure every check submitted in our platform is processed according to that specific mortgage company's requirements. We continuously update this database with any changes lenders make to their internal rules. Even if a client is encountering a particular mortgage company for the first time, iink has already navigated their specific process and is ready to get the job done smoothly.
Take full advantage of our Resource Center for helpful assistance and step-by-step process guides for your partners and clients. We are always looking for ways to ensure all stakeholders involved in a claim have everything they need to participate smoothly in the endorsement process. The iink website is a great place to explore—check out the “How It Works” and “Resources” tabs for practical tips and workflow guides.
I live in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and love spending time at the beach, taking my True-Blue kayak “Madonna” out on Tampa Bay, or enjoying a night out dancing with friends. I like to stay active, and St. Pete always has something unique going on. I also love going to concerts and festivals, and I'm looking forward to attending a reggae music festival on the St. Pete Pier later this month!
